Have you set a value for the environment variable 'NCARG_ROOT'? The
'ncargex' utility (and others) depend on this
variable being set to a valid path in order to function properly.

If you haven't set a value for NCARG_ROOT, please set it to the
"root" point of your NCAR Graphics Installation. You may
consult the documentation at: http://ngwww.ucar.edu/ngdoc/ng4.4/fund/
chp1-5/5steps.html for more information.

If you have set this variable and 'ncargex' is still not functioning
as expected, please contact me directly via email.
