Thanks again for your further help.

 

I installed NCARG from source code. I tried "ctrans -d X11 gmeta" but got the same error messages as "ictrans -d X11 gmeta".

If it were a X11 problem, Could you please be a little more specific? Is it a missing X11 library file, or a malfunctioned X11 library? In which source file does ictrans try to open graphcap? Maybe I have to view the source code to find the reason.
