There is no way to simply set some parameter to specify
something like making the output compatible with A4 paper.

However, I think what you want to do can be accomplished
by setting values for the plot positioning parameters
LX, LY, UX, and UY.

This is discussed at:

The units for the LX, LY, UX, and UY values are in 1/72
of an inch, so you would have to calculate the position
on a page using that metric.

This may take some experimentation. If you are not
able to make it work, then if you tell me what page
size you want to produce and where you want your
plot, then maybe I could come up with an example.
