css_grid in a mixed c++/c/fortran program on RedHat Linux Enterprise

I am trying to compile and link a program that uses c_cssgrid. I downloaded, configured and made ncarg-4.4.2 on my linux box. I am using the ncargcc script to compile and link. I needed to change "gcc" to "c++" in ncargcc to eliminate undefined references to the c++ new operator. On the linking step, there still remain unresolved references to icfell_ and seter_. I believe these are fortran subroutines in the ncarg library. The program does little more than include the ngmath.h header inside extern "C"{} and calls c_cssgrid. Mary Haley was kind enough to explore some possible remedies but I am still unable to fix my linking problem. Is there anyone with some experiences or comments that might be helpful? Thank You, Jason
