On what sort of host/OS did you install NCAR Graphics?

Is there a file called libX11.a in the directory /usr/X11R6/
lib ? If there isn't, please check the directory /usr/X11R6/lib64

If you find the file libX11.a in the latter directory, try
changing "/usr/X11R6/lib" to "/usr/X11R6/lib64"
