compiling ncl-ncarg-6.1.2

Hi, everyone:

I am trying to compile ncl-ncarg-6.1.2 on CENTOS 6.4.
The kernel is 2.6.32-358.11.1.el6.x86_64

I bumped into error on cro.c.
And the message said freetype/config/ftheader.h: No such file or directory

I do have ftheader.h. It is in
/usr/include/freetype2/freetype/config/ftheader.h.
During configure I answered /usr/lib64 and /usr/include.

Could anyone help me and tell me where I did wrong?
