Greetings. I have run into an interesting "error" with ncl_filedump
when processing Unipost output (from WRF to grib1). I cannot quite
determine if there error comes from Unipost or from NCL. I am hoping
that someone has encountered this and can shed some light on the
subject.
Upon processing a WRF output file with unipost, I have created a file in
grib1 format. I am able to generate images with this file without
problems.
However, when I perform an ncl_filedump on the file, I receive the
following error messages:
warning:NclGRIB: Unsupported time unit found for parameter
(PRMSL_GDS3_MSL_10), continuing anyways.
.
.
.
This continues for most if not all parameters.
The problem occurs when processing WRF output files with sub-hourly time
outputs.
For example, when processing a Unipost processed WRF file that ends on
the hour, ncl_filedump returns the following for the variable name and
forecast times:
float PRES_GDS3_SFC
forecast_time : 3
forecast_time_units : hours
When processing a Unipost processed WRF file that end on a sub-hourly
time output, ncl_filedump returns the following for the variable name
and forecast times:
float PRES_GDS3_SFC_10
forecast_time : 13
forecast_time_units : 15 minutes
I believe it is these variables that are causing the error message. Any
thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
