Moti,

I'm not sure what is going on here. You have a rather old version of
idt, so you might try upgrading your version of NCL/NCAR Graphics.

You can check if your gmeta file is okay by typing:

    ctrans -d X11 gmeta

This should pop up a window that you click on with your left mouse
button to advance the frame.
