Hi, (sorry if this is a double post - i didn't see it appear in the mailing
list)

I'm currently using NCAR Graphics to plots some weather data for a
university project, I was hoping to ask a question on this as i'm having
trouble with it so i hope i've come to the right place for that.

In plotting some of the data i've placed a map of australia behind the
contour plot of temperatures. However points of the array corresponding to
latitude and longitude data points do not seem to correlate to points on the
map i've projected using some of the EZMAP instructions. A point in the gulf
of carpenteria appears one array point off where it should be, if you look
at the images found here (didn't know if i could attach files to this
mailing list?) you'll get a better idea of what i am talking about.

http://www.filefactory.com/file/b03aha4/n/spiketest2.pdf

The first image shows a spike which should basically be one array point
upwards in the Gulf of Carpentaria. I have thoroughly checked my array
references and i'm quite sure they are correct. The second image shows the
same contour plot for January without the spike.

One reason i think the australia projection isn't alligned is because you
can see the contour plot points do no extent to the extent of the EZMAP
projection. Ie: the tip of queensland and part of Tasmania fall outside the
plotting area. So what i wonder is whether i need to squash that projection
of australia down a bit to come in line with the contour plot done by
CPEZCT.

The instructions for the projection and contour plot are below. From the
research i've done it appears that the call to SET defined the extents of
the projection. Should I try and reduce the vertical extents - i have
tried CALL SET (0.,1.,0.1,0.9,0.,1.,0.1,0.9,1). but it seems to make no
difference.

Is there anyway to make sure the plot of CPEZCT aligns with the plot made by
EZMAP?

thanks heaps for any help
