Again on the idt Translator aborted problem

Dear all,
launching a command like idt TER.PLT
idt starts but nothing is displayed.
On the shell the message "Translator aborted" appears.

#which ictrans
/root/ncar/bin/ictrans

#which idt
/root/ncar/bin/idt

The test:
#tgks0a
# ictrans -d X11 gmeta
gmeta
Building CGM table of contents
Read 1 frames
1 frames
ictrans> 1p
Plotted 1 frames, last frame plotted: 1
shows the figures and no errors are reported, everything seems fine with
ictrans.

Even a plot the TER.PLT using ictrans directly is fine:

#ictrans -d X11 TER.PLT
ictrans>1p
plots are displayed.

It seems something regarding idt and not ictrans.
Any ideas?
