problems with ctrans & rasttopnm

Hi,

I am running NCAR Graphics v4.4.1 on a 64-bit dual-Opteron system running Redhat
Linux Enterprise v4. I'm having no problems generating gmeta files. However,
when I attempt to convert the files to GIF images using the pipe:

% ctrans -d sun -res 600x600 gmeta | rasttopnm | ppmtogif > image.gif

'rasttopnm' chokes on the gmeta image with the message:

rasttopnm: invalid cols: 0

I have verified that the gmeta file is ok by transferring to a 32-bit machine
running NCAR graphics and running the same pipe. The resulting gif image is
generated just fine.

Any help and/or suggestions are sincerely appreciated.
