    Dear Nestor,

    When you get this error message, it means that NCARG_ROOT is not
    set. Perhaps you set the environment variable incorrectly, or you
    didn't set it in one of your home .* files, and thus when you logged
    out and logged back in, you lost the setting.

    Make sure that you put this setting in one of your home .* files,
    and then check your environment variable settings by typing "env" (or the
    equivalent) to see if NCARG_ROOT is set correctly.
