I'm a field forecaster for NWS and have some experience at running and
setup of a local model (WsEta) and have been considering trying to run
a version of the MM5 on my home workstation. I downloaded a couple of
binaries from the server that I thought might be compatible.
I'm running a 64 bit Athlon system under SUSE Linux 9.2. However,
when the INSTALL script checks the CPU it get "x86_64" for the response
and fails to recognize the system. Just wondering if anybody has any
experience with installing the MM5 on a 64 bit Athlon CPU with SUSE
Linux and the GNU G95 compiler.
Is this even possible or am I spinning my wheels?
