Can't locate -lcrt2.o

The attempt to run ncargex on an installation of the NCAR Graphics
binary for Mac OSX 10.2.6 either from Terminal or DarwinX produces the
error message between the lines...

The compile and link failed.

There is a file crt2.o in
/usr/local/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/powerpc-apple-darwin6.2/3.3/, but
evidently that is not sufficient. I cannot find the file -lcrt2.o on
the system.

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
