    Dear Mr. Balotro,

    This error message indicates that perhaps you are calling the routine
    GOPWK and passing an invalid value for the third argument, which is
    the workstation type.

    You can do a "man gopwk" to see what some of the valid workstation
    types are.

    Or, it is possible that you are linking against an older version of
    NCAR Graphics that doesn't recognize the workstation type that
    you are passing to it.

    I don't think you should do this, because version 4.2.2 is an older
    version, and is not likely to fix your problem.

    If you can send me your code, I might be able to figure out what's
    wrong with it.

    It depends on what kind of system you are working on. For Linux and
    MacOSX systems, we have pre-compiled binaries that were built using
    gcc and g77.
