In ours labs, we have an HP Itanium-2 system running HP-UX
    11.i ver 1.6 (or HP-UX 11.22).

Itanium has Ansi C compiler, gcc and fortran 90 compiler. I tried to
compile Ncar graphics package but i had no success. Originally the config
script had no idea what the system was. That seemed logical. I tweaked the
config script and managed to have itanium acrhitecture recognized. Now
when i type 'make' i have the following results:

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    System File ia64
    Binary Install Directory /usr/local/ncarg/bin
    Library Install Directory /usr/local/ncarg/lib
    Include Install Directory /usr/local/ncarg/include
    Manpage Install Directory /usr/local/ncarg/man
    Config Install Directory /usr/local/ncarg/lib/ncarg/config
    Data Base Directory /usr/local/ncarg/lib/ncarg/database
    Programmer Doc Dir /usr/local/ncarg/lib/ncarg/doc

    Test Directory /usr/local/ncarg/lib/ncarg/tests
    X App. Def. Directory /usr/local/ncarg/lib/ncarg/xapp
    f77 Compiler f90
    f77 Flags +DSitanium2 +DD64
C Compiler gccBut compilation fails. I receive error
    messages (especially in the 'C'
    code')
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
<command line>:1:3: warning: ISO C requires whitespace after the macro
    name
       gcc -ansi -O -I../../../.././include -I/usr/include/Motif2.1
    -I/usr/include/X11R6 -DHP-UX -DSYSV -D_HPUX_SOURCE -DNeedFuncProto -c
    c_ardbpa.c
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    or
    ----------------------------------------------------------
ar: file c_tdclrs.o is built with mismatched data abi
    -------------------------------------------------------
    and similar messages ..

Is there anyone who have tried something like that (with or no success ?)
Is there something i missing in the config file or the options ?
Any help / hint will be greatly appreciated !
