Strictly speaking, that tells you that ctrans isn't in your $PATH, or
doesn't have execute permissions for you. It might still be somewhere
on the system.
In my local installation ncargex and ctrans are in the same directory,
which is $NCARG_ROOT/bin/ . If your shell can find the one but not the
other, I suspect something or other went amiss during installation.
Possibilities that come to mind are
- Didn't compile successfully
- Didn't install successfully
- Got installed, but not in $NCARG_ROOT/bin/
- Execute permission not set or got changed
I'd grep for ctrans in the installation log, if you happen to have kept
one.
