    Dear Jason Levit,

Version 4.1.1, which was released on CD-ROM, contained both NCAR
Graphics *and* NCL. When NCAR Graphics source code became available
for free, it split off from NCL, since NCL is only free in binary
    format.

Thus, if you download the source code or binaries for NCAR Graphics
4.2.x, you will not receive NCL. To download NCL binaries, go
    to:

       http://ngwww.ucar.edu/ncl/

and click on the "download NCL" link.

Please try getting and installing the latest version of NCL, and this
should fix the problem you are having. You can install NCL in the same
location that you installed NCAR Graphics 4.2.1.
