Cell array and other items

Dear Michele,

there are different ways to draw the desired grid.
you could use LINE to draw the desired lines.
The way I'd do it would be to use some Autograph programme
to make a background and set the tick length so that they cover
the whole domain. You must first plot the cell array and then
on top of it the grid otherwise it will disappear.

I have 2 nice subprogrammes for drawing cell arrays
according to the value of a field (thus giving a result
similar to filled contours). It can produce colours or
gray scale in any given number of steps and assign them
linearly, by nat. log or decadal log.

If anybody would like to get these programmes please let me know.
However, they are not yet completely worked out as I'd like
them (e.g., they are not yet producing the right input for
creating the label bar), therefore I haven't put them in the
public domain.

This brings me to the more general question about sharing
software among the NCARG user community. I think originally
there was a webspace offered by NCAR for this purpose but
hardly anybody put something there. I'm wondering why.
For myself, I am certainly willing to give my programmes
to anybody as soon as they have reached the level of refinement
I'd aspire to for such a purpose.

Best regards
Petra Seibert
