restarting use of NCAR graphics

Dear people,

I hate to bother such a large and sophisticated group, but we are
restarting use of NCAR graphics and need a pointer on how to best deal
with ordinary flat X-Y plots. Autograph seems to work but is very
limited in what it can do. What is the alternative? Both the student
who was doing these plots, and the person to whom she depended, have
now left FSU and I cannot find anyone else here that uses NCAR
graphics.

We formerly used Computer Sciences Disspla along with some NCAR for
the global contour plots, but could not afford to pay the charges on
Disspla.

Secondly, we need to depict a spacecraft going about the Earth (maybe
with a very simple map) in a high inclination orbit. Does anyone
already have a plot program set up for such an illustration?

Of course this all needs to be done by Thursday!
