ncargraphics and sgi os 5.3

I am getting core dumps on our sgi's which are running versions 5.1.1
and 5.3 os. The fortran version is 4.0.0 and 4.0.2. Oh , i forgot to
mention ,this dump is when i run ctrans. the error is this:

ctrans: WARNING - Could not process CGM element(class=4, id=1) [ XAllocColorCells(,,,,) failed ]
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Any Ideas? Is there a patch for this?
