We are experiencing some serious weirdness with SGI's debugger and NCAR.
We are using SGI's "casevision debugger", also called their "workshop
debugger" (in any case the executable is 'cvd') under IRIX 4.0.5H and NCAR
version 3.2. When some (not all) executables that are loaded with the NCAR
libraries are opened up with the debugger, cvd pops up a little window that
says "cannot open executable". No other debugger seems to have this problem;
gdb and dbx both work fine. The NCAR libraries are definitely the deciding
factor---load without them and cvd opens the executable without any problem.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? If so, what did you do about it? It
appears there is something very wrong with SGI's debugger, but I could be
wrong.
